My professional path:
I have enjoyed a long and satisfying professional life.
My first career was as an electrical engineer. I worked for the government for 12 years, and then three years for a medical equipment company while I attended graduate school in psychology starting in 1980. I was licensed as a marriage, family & child therapist in 1984, and as a clinical psychologist in 1987.
I have found my work in psychology to be deeply satisfying and have grown to love the people who have worked with me. I have been honored to work with several weekly groups for over 30 years, many individuals, couples, and families for 40 years, and to do psychological evaluations for the state and the courts as a Qualified Medical Evaluator for a decade. I have also had the pleasure of being on the faculty of The Psychotherapy Institute in Berkeley for over 20 years, where I taught courses in individual and group psychotherapy. I also have been honored to mentor 14 talented marriage & family therapy interns and post-doctoral psych assistants who were in the process of getting their licenses.
My future plans:
I am planning on spending my retirement time living life as fully as possible. For me, this means being my family, reading good books, maintaining my health, my home and garden, playing music with friends, golfing, skiing, and traveling as much as possible.
